The American Association of Museums, Washington, D.C. published in 1999 A
Museum Guide to Copyright and Trademark, which has a chapter (3: p 99- 120)
on "Museums and the Web."
Lesley Ellen Harris <lesley@copyrightlaws.com> has produced a very
informative summary on Understanding Developments in Copyright, Privacy and
other Legal Issues, which is her E-LAM Report no. 4. This document is only
available to institutions which has subscribed to her E-LAM Reports. You
could contact the author to see which institution in your country has these
electronic documents.
"This E-LAM Report examines various developments in copyright,
privacy and
other legal issues, specifically as they relate to the e-commerce activities
of libraries, archives and museums ("LAMs"). These laws vary from country to
country, and the laws are still being tested and, in some situations,
revised, to deal with digital issues. This Report will inform you about some
of the legal issues that you should consider in your e-commerce activities.
Case studies of the e-commerce activities of libraries, archives and museums
are also included."
