Electronic Access Librarian 

Florida Institute of Technology's Evans Library is inviting applications
for the faculty position of electronic access librarian. A private
university in Melbourne, FL, Florida Tech (www.fit.edu) offers
undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, business,
psychology, aeronautics, the sciences, and the humanities. Its
68,500-square-foot library serves campuses and community with access to
information resources and services, as well as by housing a
microcomputer center, a teaching auditorium, and a learning pavilion. 

With a focus on extended library services, this librarian oversees
development and maintenance of the Library's Internet site
(www.lib.fit.edu), provides a full range of reference services, delivers
information-resources-and-strategies instruction, acts as liaison to
academic units, and participates in professional activities. Some
evening/weekend hours are required. 

An ALA-accredited MLS and 6 years experience, or equivalent education
and experience, are required. 

Desirable are: knowledge of electronic/multimedia reference sources, a
strong desire to extend library services and resources to remote users,
evidence of positive communication and interpersonal skills, and
extensive Internet and Windows experience. Finalists will be required to
give an instructional presentation during the on-campus interview.
