I am working on a task force comprised from three library consortia in the
Detroit metropolitan area that plans to install a patron-initiated
interlibrary loan system during 2001. This will be a rather large system
serving a target population of 4.5 million people. Two of the consortia are
multi-type serving a variety of academic, public, museum and special
libraries. I am seeking information on two areas.
First, I am interested in identifying large sites, e.g. consortiums, state
and regional cooperatives, etc. that have implemented patron-initiated
interlibrary loan systems.
Second, I am interested in what patron-initiated ILL systems are actually
in use at these large sites and a general sense of the key reasons for
selecting that product, satisfaction level of the product, and the vendor's
support for the product.
