Hello everyone
In browsing through this listserv's archives I see that in 1994 there
were a series of emails on turning off workstations to save energy. I
have a couple of questions as follow up to that discussion.
How many of you after that discussion took steps to turn off your
workstations? Do you continue to do so today?
I have been asked to look at devices (either internal or external) that
would shut off either the monitor or the workstation after set periods
of inactivity. While I have been able to identify a few devices, I am
wondering what experiences (the good, the bad and the ugly) others have
had in this area. Are you using a product or are you using the old
finger technique (applying the index finger to the off switch) in
carrying out this activity?
