NEWS RELEASE RMG Consultants, Inc. 14 November 2000
"INDUSTRY LEADERS GIVE THEIR BEST ADVICE TO LIBRARIES IN
THESE CHANGING TIMES"
is the topic of
RMG's Eleventh Annual Presidents' Seminar: The View from
the Top
January 12, 2001 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., Washington, D.C.
(At a location to be announced once assigned by ALA)
What advice do the presidents of leading companies in four
library industry sectors have for libraries in
these changing times?
The panel for RMG's Eleventh Annual Presidents' Seminar
includes the presidents of companies
from the following library industry sectors:
* Library automation vendors
* E-Book companies
* Database providers
* Book distributors
Top executives of leading companies in these four
library industry segments are asked in this free
seminar to share their thoughts and best advice to
libraries in these changing times.
What will these leaders
* Identify as libraries' greatest threats
and opportunities in this post-election year?
* Say about the potential impact of e-content on
traditional library collection development and
spending practices?
* Tell us will be the hottest new technologies
impacting libraries in 2001?
What will they advise libraries to do
about them?
* Identify as the forces of greatest change from
outside the library industry?
And what will they say about the needed
reactions of their companies and libraries
in this precious little global library
industry of ours?
The ground rules for panelists are to keep their
discussions of libraries and the library industry in
the 21st Century at professional and industry-wide
levels -- but not to make sales pitches or to promote
their companies or products.
Companies from throughout the Library Industry are
invited to attend as members of the audience, to add
their questions and comments to those of the panelists.
Convened by Rob McGee, President, RMG Consultants,
Inc., this free seminar annually focuses the library
community on topics of significance. This unique
industry forum for the exchange of ideas on leading
edge developments is RMG's way of thanking librarians
and companies whose energy and passion lead the library
industry.
