INFORMATION SPECIALIST - ( $3,701 - $4,724 monthly)
The Palmdale City library is seeking a candidate for the position of
Information Specialist
(classified as Librarian II). Job duties include: network maintenance as
well as Web page
design and maintenance; evaluation and selection of databases and
software; evaluation, planning, implementation and maintenance of
library automation and Internet access. Also
includes staff/public training and maintenance of computer security &
hardware.
Qualifications: B.S. or B.A. degree. MLS preferred. Experience managing
library automation systems; knowledge of networking; Internet and
software applications. Ability to master
new computer hardware & software and diagnose hardware, software and
networking
problems. Ability to communicate technology to the unitiated with
enthusiasm; good oral
and written skills.
