I was truly shocked when we initially installed our Checkpoint firewall.
The log files revealed we were being banged on day and night and every
protocol and port was being pried and poked.

and more stories.
You are right, libraries as a target are not news.
Not long ago, we messed up here and created an open relay, which was used
as a spawning point for spam e-mail. Lots of folks mad at us...
