ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANT POSITION


TITLE:  ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, UNIVERSITY LIBRARY SYSTEMS


The University of South Alabama is accepting applications for the =
position of Assistant Director, University Library Systems.  Duties =
include managing the University Libraries networked and microcomputer =
application systems; serving as liaison to library vendors; reviewing =
and approving specifications for computer equipment, software, and =
peripherals; creating and modifying Voyager system parameters in system =
control files; creating security profiles for operators; creating and =
modifying screens for SOUTHCat; analyzing and resolving problems with =
Voyager use; acting as coordinator for Voyager among the libraries and =
staff, between the USA Libraries and Endeavor; coordinating staff =
training and continuing education relating to the computer systems used =
by the library; collaborating with staff in collection management and =
public services regarding departmental applications of the integrated  =
library system; installing Voyager upgrades; generating system reports; =
and designing report templates.

Minimum requirements: Minimum requirements for this position are =
Master's degree in library science or instructional technology and two =
years professional experience maintaining an integrated library system.  =
Experience with Endeavor's Voyager System preferred.  Library science =
degree preferred.
