MyLibrary@NCState and Personalized Library Services
Join us for a discussion of personalized library services and their impact
on Reference staff. MyLibrary@NCState (http://my.lib.ncsu.edu/) is one of
the leading examples of personalized library services. Kathy Green, Head
of Research and Information Services at North Carolina State will talk
about the experiences of Reference staff at as a lead off for a general
discussion of the reference implications and opportunities of these
services.
The current project of the Local Systems and Services Committee is a web
page of Innovative Web-Based Reference Services: A Selected List. The
services covered are: Expert Systems , Locally Produced Databases --
Bibliographic or Full text ,Personalized Library Services, Reference FAQ ,
Reference Menu Organization , Tutorials -- General Library, Tutorials --
Subject Specific Library . The committee hopes to have the webpage
available soon for the public to use.
