Hello Michael,

You bring up some very good points. I maintain a library
Web server and include a book database section. My intent
when putting it together was to offer a searchable database
of new and used books where patrons could find books/titles
that aren't in our library. We also have links, of course,
to other libraries in the area if patrons want to check those
catalogs. If any bookstore, small or large, in our area
had an online presence, I would gladly point to their site.
Since it is the online world we are talking about, possibly
you should offer your inventory in digital format; if nothing
else, just a database of titles. It seems reasonable then,
that the SF Pub Lib would point to your site as well. I think
we all value the independent book dealers in our areas and would
not want to be responsible for their demise.

Regards,

Carol Briggs-Erickson
