Queens Library does not currently use netLibrary (or offer other ebooks),
but I also have questions and issues about integration with our existing
IOLS, access, and reporting statistics:
What is the complexity of configuring netLibrary access from our network?
Further web design will certainly be required, but can access be set up to
serve both walk-in and remote customers? Since some stations are designated
for catalog searching only, can access be set up so that walk-in customers
can retrieve an e-book from a shared collection (vs a private copy) within
the Library's catalog without having jump to the netLibrary website?
As of January 2000, usage statistics can only be accessed from the
netLibrary web site. No distinction is made between views (usually 15
minutes) and borrows (time limit depends on the Library's policy) in
netLibrary's usage statistics. No usage statistics by location are
available. No usage statistics are available on the number of attempts to
borrow an e-book that is already checked out. Are there any standards or
plans to work with IOLS vendors to integrate netLibrary usage reports with
existing IOLS circulation reports? (I think I heard, though, that
Innovative Interfaces has entered into some sort of partnership with
netLibrary, but what about the others?)

There has been much discussion regarding cataloging and customer service
issues of the netLibrary "free" trial. Has anyone currently using
netLibrary had any technical concerns? (access problems, compatibility,
etc?)
