Harvard University. Office of News and Public Affairs (VP for Government,
Community, and Public Affairs).
Information Resource Specialist, grade 56 ($35,200- $57,600)
Duties: Reporting to the Director of IT, is responsible for all aspects of
information resource management in dynamic news and public affairs
organization. Will create and maintain information systems;
acquire/catalog/archive digital text & photos in online system,
acquire/organize non-digital resources; provide research support and
reference services to broad range of users including the press and general
public. Work closely with writers, photographers & other News Office staff;
collaborate with other data curators at Harvard to provide access to
institutional information.
Qualifications: MLS or equivalent, experience with online media management
and database systems required. Excellent oral & written communication
skills essential; strong collaboration skills & able to work as part of a
team. Outstanding research skills; highly proficient in use of online &
print reference resources. Experience with internet resources & tools; some
experience with web publishing required. Understanding & interest in
press/online media and/or higher education a plus. Flexibility/versatility
required to effectively contribute in an evolving work environment.
