Come hear about new and exciting technology products and services. The
presentations will describe highlights of works in progress, previews of
future plans along with the related background information. Each session
will explore a particular up and coming technology. We will start with a
conceptual overview of the technology followed by a creative discussion
and demonstration of the strategies, technologies, processes and the
people involved.

Practical Unicode Applications In Libraries

This seminar will cover an overview of the Unicode standard, but the
seminar will not be a technical one. Discussion will focus on consumer
expectations, the viewing capabilities enabled with Unicode support and
what customers can expect from vendors who support Unicode in their
library systems. A panel discussion between the audience and the
presenters will follow the presentations.

Digital Library concepts encompass everything from the doable to the
hypothetical.  Come to this session to learn where you can start today,
how image tools, XML and metadata concepts move your library towards
becoming digital and what you should plan for in the future.

Virginia. Will address the concepts and how to get started in digital
library efforts.

ISO Protocol) for streamlining day to day ILL activity as well as introduce us
to the process of providing access to electronic books through the Web.
