HEAD, INFORMATION SERVICES.  The W.W. Hagerty Library of Drexel
University seeks a dynamic, creative, service-oriented librarian to lead
the Information Services Department.  Reporting directly to the Dean of
Libraries, the person in this position manages six subject specialists
and support staff who provide instruction, reference and outreach
services, and collection development for Drexel's Colleges.  Working as
part of the management team, the Information Services Head has
responsibility for planning and continually improving and adapting
policies and procedures in response to the changes, challenges and
opportunities that are part of the Library's current environment.

Qualifications:  MLS from an ALA-accredited program and a minimum of ten
years experience in public service positions in academic libraries with
at least three years in a supervisory position.  Ability to communicate
well verbally in private and public settings.  Strong writing skill
essential.  Broad understanding of both print and electronic reference
sources and the impact of technology on libraries.  Commitment to service
essential.  A science background and web development experience
preferred.   We are seeking a collaborator who will provide innovative
leadership and who seeks "out of the
box" solutions to problems.

The Hagerty Library administration is committed to using technology to
improve service.  The entire technological infrastructure was upgraded
this year to state-of-the-art equipment for staff and patrons.  The
Library has about 400,000 volumes and an extensive and growing collection

Library:   Head Of Acquisitions.  (Search Extended)  Clemson University
Libraries seek an innovative and enthusiastic librarian to manage the
acquisition of monographs, serials, and electronic resources.  Major
Responsibilities:   The Head of the Acquisitions Unit directs all
activities of the unit and reports to the Dean of University Libraries.
Maintains control of a materials budget of $2.6 million.  Leads a staff
of fourteen people(1 faculty and 13 classified staff) involved in the
acquisition of monographs and serials, binding, and associated fiscal
activities.  Qualifications:  Required:  MLS from and ALA accredited
library school and demonstrated experience in acquisitions and
supervision.  Strongly preferred:   At least five years of
experience with acquisitions, serials and financial components of
integrated library systems.  Experience with digital information
resources, including the legal and business issues of digital
acquisitions and electronic publishing, and in negotiating licenses and
fees.  Salary range:  $35,000 minimum depending upon qualifications and
