The Texas State Library and Archives Commission is looking for someone
who will re-shape our current statewide continuing education program for
non-degreed public library directors, as well as provide consulting and
education in your own area of expertise.  These areas may include
technical services, cataloging, reference, collection development, space
planning and library construction, public relations/promotions,
electronic database searching, government documents, or management
issues.

Job duties include consulting with Texas librarians, implementing a
statewide program for non-degreed Texas public library directors, and
implementing a statewide program of continuing education on current
topics in library science.

Library System Implementation Specialist

The Office of Library & Information Services (OLIS) of the State
University of New York (SUNY) is seeking an experienced librarian to
play a key role in a multi-campus migration to a new library management
system (LMS).

Among the duties this position will perform are: helping campuses
determine data conversion needs; assisting campuses in creating LMS
conversion profiles and tables; coordinating conversion and loading of
data; monitoring library implementation and assisting when called upon
or when necessary.  This position will be based in Albany, and will
require frequent campus site visits.

The successful candidate must have an ALA-accredited Master of Library
and Information Science or equivalent degree, with 3 or more years of
post-master's library experience, preferably in an academic or
consortium setting. Also required is experience with an integrated
library management system and familiarity with MARC and LMS record
structures. Experience in LMS software testing, data analysis and
upgrades; bibliographic utilities, authority control services,
library-related training and/or customer service are highly desirable.

This migration project will be a multi-year effort involving campuses
with a number of different current systems. The successful candidate
must have the flexibility to flourish in a dynamic environment and be
able to change focus as the project evolves. She/he must possess
excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work effectively both
independently and as part of a team. She/he must have excellent written
and oral communication skills and be very comfortable with common
office/library computer applications.
