MARKET SPECIALIST
Carlyle Systems, Inc., a company specializing in automated systems for
libraries and museums, has a vacancy for a librarian to serve as
Market Specialist.
The Market Specialist gathers information about the library marketplace,
analyzes it, and synthesizes it into a broad program of library public
relations and customer relations. This program includes the coordination
of communications with customer libraries (including a newsletter);
communication with other libraries (including brochures and other
literature); relations with the Carlyle Systems Users Group; and relations
with prospective customer libraries (including the preparation and
production of responses to requests for information (RFIs) and requests
for proposals (RFPs).
The position requires an MLS degree or equivalent, and excellent writing
and communication skills. In addition, an undergraduate degree in English
or communications, some knowledge of computers and/or library computer
systems, and experience in one or more libraries are all desirable.
