POSITION TITLE:
Library Information Specialist

JOB NUMBER: # 002151

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Challenging position for a service and results oriented individual with
strong analytical and interpersonal skills.  Reporting to the  Assistant
Director of Computing and Technology Services, the selected candidate
will provide technical support for Library projects such as implementing
e-reserve, electronic document delivery, a web-based library automation
system, and videoconferencing technologies. Other responsibilities
include managing the VAX systems and specialized library software, e.g.,
CLIO, Ariel; troubleshooting systems problems and assisting users
accessing e-mail and database systems.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's of Library Science and a minimum of two years of library or
related computer experience.  The preferred candidate will have
experience with project management, procedures documentation, and
supporting a library automation system (preferably  DRA). Knowledge of
operating systems Windows 95/98/NT and UNIX or VMS,  Novell or NT
local area networks, Perl, Web interfaces, E mail support, and Help Desk
experience are  highly desirable.

SALARY:
$25,971 - $39,000
