COORDINATOR OF SYSTEMS OPERATIONS/DATABASE MANAGEMENT LIBRARIAN
The University of Maryland, Baltimore County, an honors university serving
10,000 undergraduate and graduate students, has recently invested in a
new library building featuring extensive technological development and
online resources (see www.umbc.edu). We now seek an experienced librarian
to manage daily operations of the librarys online system (CARL), to
coordinate maintenance of the library's online database, to plan and
coordinate projects, such as inventory of the collections and addition of
new formats to the database, to supervise staff and students, and to
participate in Technical Services management.
Salary $33,000-37,000 with attractive benefits.
Qualifications: ALA-MLS. Experience in an academic library using an
integrated information management system and experience in database
maintenance highly desired. Supervisory and cataloging experience
preferred. Must demonstrate understanding of integrated systems,
effective communication skills, and ability to work independently and to
organize and complete projects.
