RLG Service Forum at Midwinter ALA
All are invited to attend the RLG Service Forum the morning of January 30,
1999 at the Sheraton Society Hill hotel, Hamilton meeting room. No
reservations are required. (Coffee/tea service will be available).
Session 1, 9:30 - 11:00 am, focuses on "building a truly global resource
through the RLG Z39.50 Client Gateway" and features an RLG Gateway user
discussion panel -- representatives from the University of Oxford,
Pennsylvania State University, University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard
University -- describing their experiences accessing the Consortium of
University Research Libraries Union Catalogue in the United Kingdom and
Die Deutsche Bibliothek Database in Germany.
Session 2, 11:15-12:30, focuses on RLG's new digital initiatives --
Archival Resources (integrating archival and mixed collections
bibliographic records with dispersed finding aids describing the contents
of archival collections) and Museum Resources (resource of digital images
and information about works of art from museum collections to be
available September 1999.)
