Hi all,
We are trying to decide when it is appropriate to request permission from
the author of a web page before adding a
link to that page on our web site. Do any of you, particularly academic
library folks, have a policy or a rule of thumb you
would share? For example, do you request permission if it is a personal
page? Do you think this is never necessary?

Please respond to me directly. I'll summarize for the list.
