82 nations.
Committed to a strong teaching mission complemented by research and

the tradition of a student-centered, residential campus serving primarily
full-time students. Georgia Southern takes pride in the high quality of
its comprehensive array of more than 150 academic majors in
baccalaureate, master's, education specialist, and doctoral programs,
which have earned national accreditation in more than 20 program areas.

graduate programs on the Statesboro campus and three off-campus centers.
Georgia Southern is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges

Founded in 1906, Georgia Southern became a regional university in 1990.
The University is emerging from a decade of expansion in size and scope
which doubled the University's enrollment and increased the faculty to
634 positions. Georgia Southern's 634-acre residential campus is
located in Statesboro, a community of 30,000 located 50 miles northwest
of Savannah and 200 miles southeast of Atlanta. The University's
mission to uplift the quality of life in its region is served through
wide-ranging outreach in education and cultural opportunities and
applied research. The campus learning environment for students and the
public is enhanced by a museum of cultural and natural history, a
botanical garden, and a unique wildlife education center and visitor's
park.
