From: Randy Dykhuis <dykhuisr@mlc.lib.mi.us>
The Michigan Library Consortium is seeking two highly-motivated
individuals who would thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work
environment.
1. Network Librarian/Sales and Marketing: Responsible for marketing
OCLC-related services to libraries in Michigan and helping libraries
provide greater access to online information resources. Must be able to
travel minimum of 30 percent. Previous sales experience a definite plus.
2. Network Librarian/Database Licensing Coordinator: New position which
will work with MLC member libraries to develop a comprehensive database
licensing program. Exciting opportunity to shape a valuable new service
for Michigan libraries.
The ideal candidates will have an MLS (in lieu of an MLS we will
consider a candidate with extensive experience in a library or library
consortium background), a history of innovation in previous positions,
and strong communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office
automation products, a fascination with the Internet, and a sincere
desire to improve library service to all Michigan residents are all
strong assets for these positions. MLC offers a competitive compensation
package which includes TIAA/CREF retirement, health and dental
insurance, life insurance, and 3 weeks vacation.
Please submit your resume with salary requirements and 3 references to
Randy Dykhuis, Executive Director, MLC, 6810 S. Cedar, Suite 8, Lansing,
MI 48911. Applications will be accepted until the jobs are filled, with
priority given to those received before October 26. For more
