How to provide effective, centrally managed access
to a networked CD ROM collection.
Providing your users access to the wealth of information available on CD-ROM
can present a multitude of problems. You naturally want to provide access in
a simple way. In a way which means that you can control which users have
access to which CD titles. At the same time you want to ensure that your
spend on CD-ROM licences is effective. You may also be concerned about
network compatibility or bandwidth issues
Over 90 libraries in the UK and Holland are using Ultra*Net from Fenwood
Systems to provide local and wide area network access to their CD-ROM
collections.
This seminar examines the principles of CD-ROM networking and in particular
shows you how Ultra*Net provides centrally managed access to a CD ROM
collection.
It looks at networking CDs around a single library building, multiple
buildings within a site and addresses the issues of providing access from
remote locations.

Library Automation - Discover the way Ahead with Libero
Modern libraries need modern automation methods; an integrated approach to
the regular functions of Library management. You need a system that enables
your Library staff to provide Library services - not one that wastes their
time managing the automation system.
Just one example of Libero's fresh approach is a totally MARC independent
catalogue that allows material to be catalogued either with or without MARC.
And allows any MARC format to be used. This means that you can quickly and
easily import your catalogue records from any source available world wide
(Library of Congress, OCLC, BNB etc)
Corporate, Public and Educational libraries throughout Europe and Australia
have already discovered the benefits of Libero.
Our staff Librarian will give a detailed demonstration of Libero and show
how it addresses the issues confronting a modern library.
