Information Technology Librarian
The Northwest AHEC Library Information Network is seeking an energetic
professional to fill the position of Director of Information Technology
Services/Hickory Branch Manager. This position is located in Hickory NC
and is part of a nationally recognized Outreach program.
Responsibilities include providing technical support to the Library
Network of Northwest AHEC as well as managing the Library operations at
Catawba Memorial Hospital.
Requirements:
Experience with and working knowledge of medical reference services
(both traditional and electronic), and online searching systems;
experience installing, maintaining and trouble-shooting computer
hardware and software; ability to perform management functions,
including personnel supervision and budgeting; strong commitment to
customer service and collaborative teamwork; excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
ALA-accredited MLS (preferred); eligibility for or membership in the
Academy of Health Information Professionals; 1-2 years experience
working with computers in a networked environment; 2-3 years experience
in a health sciences or academic library; demonstrated troubleshooting
skills desirable.
Salary/Benefits:
$32,000 minimum for qualifications as stated. As an employee of the
Wake Forest University School of Medicine, this position offers
excellent health benefits, TIAA/CREF, 20 vacation days.
