                  Instructional Program Manager

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Library and Information
Science is seeking applications for the position of Instructional Program
Manager.  This position is to manage the School's Information Technology
Center serving more than 300 undergraduate and graduate students.
Administer and maintain the School's computer network of more than 60
workstations. Provide technical assistance to faculty, staff and students
on the use of microcomputers in instructional applications, and research
and grant development. Teach continuing education workshops in the School.
The Instructional Program Manager will report directly to the Assistant
Dean on the implementation and integration of information technology in
the School's operations and curriculum: maintain and supervise the
School's intranet and web services; recommend standardization of services,
policies, and expansion of network infrastructure.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is a major university committed to

institutions in the multi-campus University of Wisconsin system and has a
student enrollment of over 22,000. The School of Library and Information
Science offers programs leading to the nationally accredited Masters in
Library and Information Science, a certificate in advanced studies, a
Bachelor degree of Science in Information Resources, and the doctorate.
The School has a strong research faculty, and state-of-the-art information
technology laboratories. UWM is located in the cultural, commercial, and
educational hub of the state, in a pleasant residential neighborhood
overlooking Lake Michigan.

Qualifications: Bachelor degree in information technology or related
discipline is required. Master of Library and Information science from and
ALA accredited school is desirable. Applicants must have prior experience
in an information technology environment. Demonstrated proficiency in
management and applications of current information technology, and
competent PC background with working knowledge of Windows 95 and NT
workstation/server. Knowledge of electronic and web publishing is
preferred. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication as well as
organizational skills. Starting date is negotiable. Minimum salary:
$29,100 for 12 months with excellent benefits.
