REFERENCE AND ELECTRONIC RESOURCES LIBRARIAN - Main Library
Seeking a dynamic service oriented librarian to be part of
professionally active reference team. Duties include reference,
collection development, user education, and responsibility for
development and maintenance of the Main Library=92s web site. Positio=

coordinates the planning, implementation, promotion, and evaluation o=
f
electronic information resources in cooperation with other Library un=
its
and patrons. Required: ALA/MLS, knowledge of current technologies,
excellent technical, communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledg=
e
of HTML, web page design, and academic library experience highly
desirable. Faculty status, non-tenure track; rank dependent on
qualifications and experience. Salary $29,000 for twelve months with
excellent benefits.
Mercer is a comprehensive private university with 6800 students which

acquisitions, and information delivery services (ILL) functions (e.g.=

GOBI electronic book ordering system, RLG Ariel, and OCLC=92s Passpor=
t for
Windows and other OCLC software products);

Requirements:
Master=92s degree in information technology, computer science, librar=
y and
information science, or equivalent; bachelor=92s degree in informatio=
n
technology or computer science is desirable.
Skills and experience:
Database creation and maintenance; library or information technical s=
ystems
planning; delivery of information via the Internet, especially Web
development; managing a vendor system that impacts multiple departmen=
ts with
multiple functions; experience with Innovative Interfaces software, W=
indows
NT, OCLC software, and interfacing vendor electronic systems with in-=
house
systems is desirable but not required.
Salary commensurate with experience. Generous benefits package. RIT=
