HEAD OF ACCESS SERVICES (ASSOCIATE LIBRARIAN)

The Arizona Health Sciences Library (AHSL) is seeking a Head of Access
Services (Associate Librarian) to lead the Library's Access Services
department.  Duties and responsibilities: administrative oversight of
the Loan, Interlibrary Loan, and Photocopy units; development of
electronic tools and services to improve access to AHSL resources,
either locally or from a distance; development of electronic reserves;
development of publications (print, electronic, or Web-based) that
describe or promote  the library or its services/resources; continuing
development of relationships with Arizona hospitals and other health
related entities to improve access to AHSL resources and services; works
with the Systems department in managing the relevant modules of the
library's Sirsi Unicorn system; contributes to overall AHSL management
through participation in the AHSL Department Heads group.  Reports to
the Deputy Director.

Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Library/Information Sciences
or other relevant area.   Three years work as a librarian in a health
sciences, academic, or life sciences library.  Demonstrated writing and
leadership skills.  Supervisory experience. Evidence of desire and
ability to meet university standards in the areas of position
effectiveness, scholarly activity, and service.

Preferred qualifications: experience in providing access services to
library users in an academic health sciences center or large teaching
hospital, preferably managerial; experience with an integrated library
system; Web authoring experience; record of involvement in professional
associations and/or evidence of publications or presentations.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience, $45,000 minimum.  Excellent
benefits.

BUSINESS REFERENCE LIBRARIAN:

The University Libraries of Notre Dame invite applications for the
position of Business Reference Librarian in Hesburgh Library.  We are
seeking an individual who is creative, flexible, and enjoys the
challenges of operating in an increasingly electronic information
environment.  Working collaboratively as a team with personnel from the
all-electronic Business Information Center branch, identifies and
analyzes the information needs of students and faculty from the College
of Business Administration, and develops needed services and resources.
Introduces state-of-the-art research strategies and resources to patrons,
College members and colleagues in the Reference Department.  Offers
direct assistance at the general reference desk approximately 10-12
hours per week, including some evening and weekend shifts.

The Tisch Library at Tufts University seeks a Head of Cataloging who will
also serve as Webmaster. The successful candidate must be a dynamic,
collaborative leader who is an outstanding manager with strong
communication skills. As cataloging services head this person must
effectively participate in library-wide planning, especially regarding
the involvement of technical services. S/he must work with four catalog
librarians to effectively manage work flow, training, and allocation of
departmental resources. Other skills include the ability to balance an
understanding of issues in cataloging with local needs in order to
establish departmental goals. An MLS from ALA-accredited institution
with minimum of 5 years experience in cataloging is required. An
understanding of AACR2R, MARC format, LC classification and LCSH,
and cataloging of all formats especially electronic resources is
desirable.

As webmaster this individual must be responsible for the maintenance and
development of the library's web pages. This person must possess web
editorial knowledge in content analysis and design, knowledge of HTML and
other web-related applications, and the ability to create access to
information. This position reports to the Director of Administration for
Information Technology Services and Libraries and manages a department of
ten staff. The department processes more than 25,000 items per year,
working with other departments to continually improve services to a
population of nearly 5000 patrons.
