Library Vacancies

DOCUMENTS LIBRARIAN

REFERENCE LIBRARIAN

Boise State University

General Description: Due to retirements, the
Albertsons Library has two professional vacancies in
the Division of Reference Services: U.S. Documents
Librarian and Reference Librarian.  Under the direction
of the Coordinator of Reference Services each
librarian provides reference services in both print and a
variety of electronic formats; participates in collection
development as liaison to academic departments; has
responsibility for bibliographic instruction and
orientation sessions; and may supervise classified
staff in a variety of support areas.  Responsibilities
include regular late evening and rotating weekend
reference desk duty.  The Documents Librarian will
also oversee the U.S. Government Publications
collection and supervise one paraprofessional staff
member in the documents section.  Librarians have
faculty status and both positions are tenure track.

Minimum Qualifications:  Master's degree from an
ALA accredited graduate program in Library Science;
good communication skills, and the ability to work
collaboratively with professional, paraprofessional, and
classified staff.  Applicants for the Documents
Librarian position must have recent working
experience with U.S. Government publications.

Preferred Qualifications:  Additional graduate
degree; experience in providing reference service
through electronic media; broad educational
background; academic training or professional
experience in any of the science disciplines, business
and/or maps.

Salary and Appointment: Minimum salary: $30,264.
Comprehensive benefit package includes TIAA/CREF
retirement program, 24 days of annual leave, 12 days
of sick leave, and a selection of medical insurance
programs.  Positions are available August 1.
