Greetings PACS-L,

Enclosed is an invitation for the library community and communities
within which you live. Libraries are a cornerstone of efforts to
provide universal access to the Internet and it would be an honor to
have your participation in the Markle Foundation's E-Mail for All
Universal Access Conversation.

Please visit the web site at http://www.iaginteractive.com/emfa and
consider submitting a short essay on any of the four themes. Under
theme 3 we ask:

3.Public access to the Internet from libraries and increasingly
diverse community locations represent the first opportunities for
those without the necessary technology to go online. What are
the trends with public access initiatives? What has been
learned? What are some of the better access models for
harder-to-reach populations?

Perhaps you have additional policy questions that you would like to
raise? The event starts next week and people from around the world
are now signing up. Please join us and pass this invitation around
to others in your community who you think might be interested.

Cheers,

Steven Clift
E-Mail for All

P.S. Under our "Networking Communities" section we are looking for a
couple of places that are the most "wired" in terms of not only
Internet access but local adaptation and use of the Internet to tell
their story. Any thoughts?
