Subject: Position: Head of Acquisition, Northern IL Univ.
Head of Acquisitions (12 month, full time, tenure track).
Responsible for management, supervision, and assessment of
department, including monographic and serial acquisitions.
Responsible for department's programs, projects, personnel,
policies, procedures, planning, scheduling, record keeping,
statistical reporting, and management of available
resources. Qualifications required: earned master's degree
from ALA-accredited program; second master's degree; at
least three years recent, successful, professional
experience in an acquisitions department; strong leadership
qualities and organizational skills; effective oral and
written communication skills; ability to work independently
and with others; knowledge of application of technology to
acquisitions and technical services; ability to adapt to
changing environment. Preferred: supervisory experience;
academic library experience. Salary
and rank commensurate with credentials and experience --
$38,500 minimum, assistant or associate professor. 24
vacation days; State Universities Retirement System; state
health, dental, life insurance; faculty status/rank.
