I have not done this, but it should be possible to do. However, I got to
thinking about it and looked in a few computer supply catalogs. I found
that there are a number of "PC to TV converters" available that allow you
to send your display to a TV set and still be able to view the display
with your monitor. It has some extra options too. If done this way,
you could also connect to a VCR and creat demonstration or training
videotapes. If one added a mixer and microphones, one could also add
audio to the tape. The cost is not too great either. They seem to start
around $100 and go up to around $500.

I am not too enthused about mounting the monitor or a TV so it would be
flat in a desk or table top. I think you may find that you have a heat
problem and the set will not last too long, unless one were to mount a
cooling fan with it or perhaps find a unit made to be mounted that way.

I looked at projection panels too, but they are quite expensive ($1500+)
and not nearly as versatile as the converters. However, If I had the
opportunity to do something like this, I would look at the various types
of equipment, especially the converters, and see what they could do.

Most importantly, don't restrict yourself to a slave monitor. There are
probably a lot of better options out there, maybe even better that what I
have found. Don.
