ASIDIC 1998 Spring Meeting
March 15-17, 1998
Orlando, Florida

ADVANCED INFORMATION SERVICES: Planning for the Year 2000+
Program Chair: John A. Hearty, OCLC, Inc.
PRELIMINARY PROGRAM

Introduction to the Program: Technology can be both friend and foe to
information providers and users. While technological advances can improve
the quality and timeliness of information services, they can also bring
profound changes to an industry already "shell shocked" by the latest
barrage of technological innovations. This meeting will address the
current pace of evolution in information technology and provide strategies
for coping with the many changes on the horizon and for taking advantage of
the opportunities these changes present.
Speakers at the ASIDIC Spring 1998 meeting will focus their presentations
on what the world of information systems and services will be like in the
year 2000 and beyond. This program is certain to generate lively
discussion and provide the participants with an opportunity to spend some
quality time thinking strategically. Don't miss this opportunity to
network and to learn!
