About the International Graduate Summer School
iGSS 98 is the 26th International Graduate Summer School in
Librarianship and Information Science to be held in Aberystwyth, Wales,
UK.
iGSS began at the College of Librarianship Wales (CLW) in 1973
under the directorship of Frank Hogg; the College has become
the Department of Information and Library Studies, University of
Wales Aberystwyth but the Summer School carries on.
iGSS has always provided an opportunity for information
professionals from around the world to meet and discuss current
issues at the same time that they take part in a programme of
lectures and seminars which aid their continuing professional
development.
iGSS 98: Managing the Electronic Library
offers a mix of tuition, discussion, practical work, library visits,
workshops and case studies designed to bring you "up to speed" with the
provision and management of the new technologies required by
libraries today. It will help to prepare you for managing your
own electronic library.
