Hello Becky and everybody on PACS-L.
In our library we are in the process of renovating a room that used to be
a study area with carrels. We are bringing in new desks (Nova) designed
to accomodate a computer, with the monitor mounted underneath the work
surface. The desks come with a power strip built in and can be daisy
chained together. Our A/C is being upgraded to provide better air flow,
new outlets are being put into the walls for power and data (I think 10
BASE T). Most outlets will not be visible, since the desks will be flush
against the walls, and the desks have some kind of ducts built in to hide
the cabling for computer components, power, and data.
I hope this helps. We hope the process will be over in about a month, so I
should have some interesting comments after it's done.
Julie
