Of course I have weighted my results. Was I supposed to be objective?
When I go to church on Sunday, I'm not expecting my minister to express
doubts about the life hereafter, either. We get enough bummers along the
way. Susan, with all due respect, if you want the bleak side of the
Internet, read Hotwired. As for me, even with my fair share of human
trials, I still say my cup is half-full. If yours is too, write me at
kgs@bluehighways.com and tell me how the Internet helped you learn to cross
barriers. I have made friends with truckdrivers, I have had people tell me
I changed how they think about gay people, I have been entertained and
comforted in the wee hours by people across the world; I've learned to
share with people from all walks in life. Heck, among other things, I've
learned, and learned, and learned. Maybe if I get lucky, someday my
favorite truckdriver will give me a ride in a semi--then I can die and go
to heaven. Amen!
