OPAC/ILL WWW interface at UQAC

The University of Quebec network has made available a WWW interface t=
hat
integrates both searches in the University of Quebec OPAC and the
production of ILL requests for documents not available in one or the
other of the 11 campuses of the University of Quebec network. The I=
LL
interface is itself totally integrated to the Ill management system o=
f
the University of Quebec, a fully 10160 ISO Interlibrary Loan Protoco=
l
Standard.
The system has been developped at the University of Quebec at Chicout=
imi
(UQAC).
Persons interested to have a good overview of the system should point
their browser to this address:

Once there, you will have three choices:
BADADUQ, which only gives access to the OPAC of University of Quebec
network
BADADUQ + PEB (OPAC + ILL), the OPAC, plus the capacity to generate I=
LL
requests for documents (books, periodicals, etc.) found or not in one=
or
another of the 11 campuses of University of Quebec network.
Pr=EAt-entre-biblioth=E8ques (ILL), for the case when you have a prec=
ise
citation and decide to go directly to ILL.=20
The last two possibilities are reserved to the patrons and employees =
of
the University of Quebec network.
For a limited period of time, you can access the last two possibiliti=
es
using the ID and Password listed below:

This will identify you in the same way as a doctoral student at UQAC,
with all the privileges associated with this status.
The system makes a large use of Java scripts. For that reason, you
should use a fully Java compatible browser (Navigator 3,01 and up;
Explorer 4,0 and up).
For a good demonstration of the system, try a search with the words "
java " and " programmation " in the subject fields (Sujets) or look a=

the simulations available (click on " Simulations " on the system hom=
e
page) on the same theme.
The system permits:
Access to all the documents available in the University of Quebec
network (BADADUQ)
Access to documents available on Internet and accessible through an
entry on our OPAC
Acces to ILL without any retyping both by the patron or the ILL staff=
.
The system supports an automatic validation of any ILL request to the
local holdings of the requesting library. This feature eliminates t=
he
possibility of accidental or abusive ILL requests for documents
potentially available in the local library.
