REFERENCE LIBRARIAN. Prairie View A&M University seeks an energetic,
creative individual to join the reference staff. DUTIES: The
successful candidate reports to Head, Reference Department; provides
assistance to patrons at reference desk, including night and weekend
hours; participates in team management of electronic reference
service; participates in user education program; serves as liaison to
selected academic programs. REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree from
ALA-accredited program; excellent oral and written communication
skills; academic library reference experience using electronic
databases, online library systems, listservs, WWW; ability to work
effectively with diverse populations. Preference will be given to
applicants with a second master's and professional academic reference
experience. Salary: $23,000-26,000. Closing date: Open until

Position Available: SUPPORT MANAGER
The AMIGOS Bibliographic Council, Inc., a Dallas, TX not-for-profit
network serving the staff of 600 member libraries in the Southwest,
seeks a SUPPORT MANAGER to coordinate and provide ongoing and proactive
technical support/customer service for OCLC and other technology-based
library services through the AMIGOS Support Desk. Supervise Support
Desk staff; serve as primary support contact for hardware and
telecommunications; serve as editor for monthly technical publication,
AMIGOS Agenda and OCLC Connection.
Requirements: ALA-accredited MLS, 3 years progressively responsible
experience including supervisory experience. Thorough knowledge of OCLC
services, microcomputers, and telecommunications including Internet.
Experience in reference service, customer service, or networks
preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including
telephone support; strong commitment to courteous, timely, and accurate
technical support/member service; energetic; goal-oriented leadership;
appreciation of resource sharing in libraries; ability to work well as a
team member or as an individual contributor. Experience with MS
Office. Limited presentations and travel may be required.
Minimum salary: $30,000. Excellent benefits including relocation
reimbursement. Opportunity to work in exciting and rewarding
environment serving librarians and other library staff. Position
