Hello,
I'm looking for academic or public libraries who have had experience working
with the two CD-ROM network vendors listed above: Microtest (Phoenix,AZ) and
Interface Electronice (Duluth, GA). I would like to ask some candid
questions about each company's track record with your institution in
installing a CD-ROM network, responding to service calls, delivering staff
training.
I am also interested in knowing about amount of "down time" experienced
with your installation, difficulty or ease of installing new CD-ROM
titles at the server and client levels, and your overall satisfaction
level in working with each of the vendors.
Southern Methodist University is on the verge of choosing a vendor to
install a network giving access to close to 200 CD-ROM titles being
contributed by various libraries on our campus.
Please respond to me, and I will share responses with the list if there
is interest.
