"Thin Clients and Network Computers, Emerging Paradigms" will be the topic
of the LITA Emerging Technologies Interest Group conference program in San
Francisco. Session Information: Sunday 6/29/97 9:30AM - 12:30PM, Moscone
Convention Center - Room 305, San Francisco, CA.
This conference session will explore the radical new technologies of thin
clients and network computers, and how they will be useful in library
settings. Presentations by librarians and systems developers will
identify what these technologies are and and discuss why they have
potential for drastically reducing systems support costs and increasing
the availability of powerful computing resources throughout the
organization. Presentations by: Michigan State University, Emory
University, Sun Microsystems, Citrix Systems, Ovid Technologies, and
SilverPlatter Corporation.
Please joing the LITA Emerging Technologies Interest Group for this
program. The Interest Group business meeting will be held after the
program, so if you are interested in getting involved, stay in the
presentation room after the session.
