Fixed Term, Nonrenewable Appointment
POSITION:
System Implementation Librarian,
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
AVAILABLE:
October 1, 1992
DESCRIPTION:
Coordinates library-wide implementation of new integrated
online system under the supervision of the Assistant
University Librarian for Systems. Assists in the
determination of implementation tasks and schedule. Works
with other Library Systems staff to coordinate tasks with
working groups, library departments & departmental libraries,
and other campus agencies; collect policy information &
direct the entry of policy tables; and manage the training
program for library staff and users. Evaluates the
implementation process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: ALA-accredited MLS; familiarity with and
demonstrable knowledge of integrated online systems; strong
organizational skills; excellent skills in oral and written
communication; and the ability to work effectively with a
variety of users.
Preferred: 2 years research library experience; previous use
of Data Research Associates (DRA) software; and familiarity
with Digital VAX systems.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
This nonrenewable position is for a fixed term of twelve
months beginning as early as October 1, 1992. It offers a
salary of $28,000 and standard State benefits including
annual leave, sick leave, health insurance, and State or
TIAA-CREF retirement plan.
