Subject: state-wide database access
The Libraries of Indiana expect to provide access to a
suite of databases by any citizen with a library card and
access to the Internet from home, schoolroom, office and
library. We would like to communicate with
other groups actively engaged in similar development
activities.
We would like the name, Email, and phone number of a contact
person who is willing to share thoughts and findings on the
following:
hardware and software technology of group access
selection of databases
funding strategies
management and governance issues
user authentication
recommended consultants
other relevant issues
Send contact information to me not the list. We will
summarize and share results with the list and we will
consider establishing a list if desired by others people
involved in this type of cooperative networking.

Subject: convertion from UNIMARC to USMARC
I'm new to this list, so please e-mail me privately if this topic has
been discussed before.
I'm looking for information on converting a library catalog from UNIMARC
to USMARC format.
Any information will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Cecilia Chataignier

We would like to hear from libraries that are currently using the
FirstSearch ILL option. Some specific questions we have are:
1. Would you be willing to share your procedures with us? We are
especially interested in what to do once the record is in the review
file.
2. How do you use customized holding paths with the FirstSearch ILL
option (once it drops it into the review file)?
3. What are your experiences using the FirstSearch ILL option (good
and bad)?
4. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for implementing
the FirstSearch ILL option?
Please send your responses to either:
