When this first came up, I was certain that it must be a mistake, so I called
CARL. We have a dedicated password, not a dedicated port (for UnCover). I
was told that for the forseeable future, it seemed that anyone with such a
password for UnCover would also be able to get into ERIC. Of course, I don't
know what it is your university is paying for. Perhaps it has a dedicated
port-- we don't, and during busy afternoons we get "refused" or "failed" quite
often. One poor stubborn graduate student tried 60 times in a single
afternoon!
