DIRECTOR, LIBRARY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
The Nebraska Library Commission is accepting applications for the Director
of Library Development Services. The successful candidate must be able to
provide leadership and coordination of library development programs and
staff through a team based approach. Facilitate planning and coordination
of library development services and activities with other Library
Commission functions and work teams. Provide state level administrative
oversight for state aid to libraries and regional library system programs.
Develop and maintain communication with library and community
representatives for effective library development services. Participate
in the planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of Nebraska
Library Commission services and policies. Provide advice and consultation
to library personnel, library board of trustees, government officials, and
others concerning library and information service issues. Qualifications:
Master's degree from an ALA-accredited institution with a minimum of five
years library-related experience; demonstrated progressively responsible
administrative experience; demonstrated strong and capable interpersonal
and leadership skills; appropriate knowledge of information technology and
telecommunications, including Internet and distance learning; strong oral
