LITA/GAYLORD AWARD CHANGES
The LITA/Gaylord Award agreement was revised this year so that
qualifications for the award are different from previous years. The
award will be given to a practicing or retired librarian, or a small
group of librarians working in collaboration, to recognize
achievement for creative use of information technology for
improving or enhancing patron services. Organized institutions or
parts of organized institutions as such are ineligible for the award,
as are currently-serving LITA officers, LITA/Gaylord Award
Committee members, and Gaylord employees. The award includes
a citation of merit and a $1,000 stipend.
Nominations may be made by any ALA member and sent to:
Sandra E. Swanson, LITA/Gaylord Award Committee, Amberg
Health Sciences Library, Cook Institute at Butterworth Hospital,
100 Michigan NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. The deadline is
February 22, 1997. The LITA/Gaylord Award will be presented at
the LITA membership meeting immediately prior to the
President's Program at ALA Annual in San Francisco.
