ATTN: Life Sciences Librarians--ALA MidYear Opportunity

Dear Life Sciences Information Specialist:

If you will be attending ALA MidYear and are interested in access to
information in the life sciences, please read the following offer to
participate in a two hour discussion with other information professionals
*and* get free theatre tickets or a gift certificate for your efforts.

I will be moderating two discussion groups on print and electronic
information resources in the life sciences on February 14 between 2 and 6 pm
at the ALA MidYear Meeting. These groups will discuss the use and usefulness
of resources currently available and explore the current and future
information needs of students and researchers in the life sciences. Each
group will consist of a maximum of ten members and sessions will last for two
hours. The sessions will be held in close proximity to the ALA convention at
the Washington Boardroom, Grand Hyatt. Each participant will receive an
honorarium of either theatre tickets (for two) for a show during the ALA
conference or a $100 American Express Gift Check.

If you will be attending ALA MidYear and meet the qualifications listed
below, please contact me at the address at the end of this e-mail. Please
provide me with specific information about your institution, your
responsibilities, and how I can contact you with further information
(telephone and e-mail). The deadline for responding is January 24, 1997.

Participant Qualifications:

-you currently work in an academic setting including community or technical
college, 4-year college, university with undergraduate and/or graduate
programs (M.S. or Ph.D.) in the life sciences*

students and/or faculty in the life sciences at your institution

*Life sciences are broadly defined as any or all of the following:
