Subject: Michigan's Emerging Information Infrastructure RFP (fwd)

Yesterday the Library of Michigan, Michigan's state library agency, issued a
request for proposals entitled Michigan's Emerging Information
Infrastructure: An Analysis of the Role of Libraries and a Plan for
Future Digital Library Development. The RFP seeks a resource
person/team to analyze the role of Michigan libraries in, and assist in
developing a plan for, future digital library development. The resource
person/team will seek input from representatives throughout the library
community and elsewhere to (1) provide a current state of the state
report on existing information networking activities, their status and
potential impact on a statewide digital library; (2) make
recommendations for the content and shape of the digital library; and
(3) shape specific goals/objectives, action steps and a timeline over a
three to five year period. Proposals are due by 5pm on February 7, 1997.

This project is sponsored by the Michigan Library Association, the
Michigan Library Consortium and the Library of Michigan. The project is
funded by the Library Services and Construction Act. The RFP and links
to supplemental materials are accessible via the URL:
