Subject: Re: Barcode Readers/Scanners..What do you recommend?
Try contacting Vernon Library Supply 1-800-878-0253 - We bought lasers
and light pens for our new SIRSI system and for a year, no problems.
They were _easy_ to install. They also have mag strip readers that we
will need soon.
Also try the System ID catalog 1-800-397-9783 - Almost to much on
barcode readers and barcodes.

Subject: Questionaire - Computer Workstations for use in Public Cluster
My name is Jean and I work at Cunningham Memorial Library, Indiana
State University in Terre Haute. I am on a committee responsible for
buying new computer workstations for use in a public cluster. This
questionnaire is crossposted to bit.listserv.libref-
l@kentvm.kent.edu.
These workstations will be added to the ones we already have. Anyone
who has recently purchased new workstations could help us by
answering the questions below. We need to have all information
gathered by the end of January. I will post a summary to the list when
I have gathered and compiled the information.
We are interested in knowing:
1) Were there an specific functions or design features outside of the
obvious?
2) From whom you purchased them (address information)?
3) What was the approximate cost per unit?
4) Did your design incorporate wood or wood veneer concepts in
preferences?
5) What were you happy with?
6) What were you unhappy with?
7) Any advice or comments you care to add
Please reply off list to libflak@cml.indstate.edu
Thank you for your help,
Jean M. Flak
