A colleague and I are conducting research on computer network
security in libraries. Some of the topics in the survey we developed
to assist us in our research include: firewalls, virus protection,
patron access to networked information, and encryption. The
results and conclusions of our research will be published by
the Association of Research Libraries, Office of Management Studies.
This survey has been posted on several listservs already, but most of
them targeted larger academic libraries, primarily in the United
States. We would like to have responses from public libraries,
non-ARL academic libraries, special libraries, school libraries,
etc., as well as libraries outside of the United States.
At the recommendation of the editors, the survey will not be posted
to the PACS-L list; however, if you are willing to complete a copy of
it, please E-mail me and I will send you a copy. I can send the
survey as an E-mail message or as a WordPerfect 6.1 attachment.
Thank you.
