The coordinator manages and maintains the library's ethernet-based NT
network. Provides desktop computing  support on Windows/MAC platforms.
Installs/tests/troubleshoots network operating  systems & application
software, & develops local modifications. Implements maintenance plans &
designs reports for management. Req: BA/BS in computer science or related
field; 3 yrs. experience in installation & administration of LAN's & 1 yr.
desktop support experience Some experience. w/Internet applications. Strong
communication  skills, flexibility and eagerness to work in a
team/cooperative environment. Prefer: Extensive experience  w/LAN
administration & networking topologies including Netware 3.12 or higher,
Window NT Server 3.51, multi-protocol configuration including
Netbeui/TCP/IP.   Novell CNE and/or Microsoft MCSE certification desired.

Reference and Access Services Department Head, Health Sciences Library

Help plan user services for the 21st century! University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill Health Sciences Library seeks a creative,
forward-looking individual to motivate and lead groups that offer
reference and other service desk activities for on-site and remote
users, stacks maintenance, and cataloging.

Reference and Access Services department consists of 8.5 FTE librarians,
8 FTE staff, and students. The Library is one of the premier health
sciences libraries in the country, with an annual budget in excess of $5
million (http://www.hsl.unc.edu).

Position reports to the Assistant Director for Information and Education
Services.

Required:

-MLS from an ALA accredited program.
-Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience (at least 2
years managing at a department or equivalent level).
-Experience in more than one of these areas: reference, cataloging, use
of bibliographic utilities, online searching, library instruction,
circulation.
-Demonstrated enthusiasm and aptitude for acquiring new skills and
working effectively in teams.
-Excellent interpersonal skills.
-Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, time-management, and
problem-solving skills.
-Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and to
serving the information needs of health professionals and students.

Salary:  Minimum $38,000, based on qualifications and experience. State

Computer Support Librarian, Texas Christian University, Entry-Level

    The Mary Couts Burnett Library at Texas Christian University is seeking
an entry level Computer Support Librarian.  This is a new position which
will be responsible for: 1) Managing a 20-station networked computer lab
(with a proposed expansion to a 40-station lab), including staffing and
training student workers, recommending software and hardware upgrades,
providing research assistance to students working in the lab, and acting as
liaison to the campus computing center that maintains lab equipment and the
LAN; 2) Maintaining the library's Web pages; 3) Training and assisting
staff with software applications and Web page development; 4) Managing and
providing access to the library's collection of multi-media titles; and 5)
Eight hours per week work at the Reference desk.
    The position reports to the Library Automated Systems Manager.
Requirements: MLS from an ALA-accredited library school; experience using
online systems and Internet resources; demonstrated proficiency at using
the HTML markup language; experience with software installation and
troubleshooting; strong communications skills.  Previous experience with
computer networks, academic libraries, and authoring of training materials
and courses desirable.  Preference will be given to candidates whose
