- From the small amount of research I've done in this area,(very
little) the TLA is not required, by law, to ask you. It has something
to do with what is protected by so-called 'privacy laws', ie, Social
Security Numbers. So if the list doesn't contain SS#'s then, sell
it. We can *assume* from this action that the TLA is attempting to
build trust in their membership. Commendable! Depending, of course
on how the organization uses this trust.

government agency's(the NSO is exempt). Now, whether a
_federally_funded_ organization, or "FreeNet" can be considered part
of the government for the purpose of freedom of information, I don't
know. As to whether it apply's to the TLA-list in question, I doubt
it. However, I am not a lawyer so anything I say cannot be held
against me in a court of law. ;-) Seriously, if there are any lawyers
on the list, I would be interested in reading your thoughts. :-}

Hmmmm....What I was hoping for, with the original post, was a more
philosophical or psychological based response. So, although any
response is cherished and I feel honored by them, I'm still looking
